I have a Fairlight series 3, that will not boot up:
Following message occur;
cmi: exit task "mptask"
--error 190 - timeout

Please, any Fairlight doctors out there?

| This could mean that you have a card failure. This happened to me when one of my CMI31 Cards failed. Try ejecting cards one at a time and see if it boots. I dont know what other circumstances can cause this failure, and I guess it would be co-incidental if your problem was the same as mine. Hope this help in some way. Cheers, Arron

Thanks for the answer and tips, i will take a carefully look on/eject each card, I really hope its so simple.
I was travelling from Denmark to Sweden with the Fairlight, so its logical, (Bumps on the road)In Denmark everything was fine, but after the travel.....
When i run "scheck" everything looks fine, no errors, just one soft error on one of the VC, some bass drum, so i took that away in the directory in the harddisk.
What upgrade do you have?
I have an older 5.4, but the CMI overall is in good condition.
