| on buying a fairlight | Max Kleinman | 2004-07-15 16:43:21 |
| well, here I go with "the plunge".. I've researched my keyboards at this point, and come down to two- synclavier and fairlight. Todd-AO claims to have six synclaviers, but their website lists fairlights in their studios, they seem to have a zillion of em. So, I've got a synclavier on the mend, and now, for a fairlight. what kind of cost hell am I looking at- the synclavier set me back a small fortune.(sold a ducati and turbo hondabike for it), that and I'm spendong more time round here. busy sight, so I'm digging around for usefull info. thanks for the help. BTW, I noticed that fairlights are for sale more often than the syncs are. Thx, max |

hey max -my 2 cents: fairlight rocks - go for it! had my III since 87 and never regretted it. this is a special machine supported by a special community . my III still sounds awesome and unique - RS page - the prototype for many sequencer programs - is still my main sequencer. -i think you'll find the people here are passionate about their fairlights in a way that distinguishes them and also speaks volumes about the object of their affection. good luck. | :thanks for the thumbs up! I finally found a link to fairlight that works, they're into digital recording and workstations now, apparently, And it looks like a scan of ebay and music equipment for sale sights is giving me a much better picture as to cost. : hey max -my 2 cents: fairlight rocks - go for it! had my III since 87 and never regretted it. this is a special machine supported by a special community . my III still sounds awesome and unique - RS page - the prototype for many sequencer programs - is still my main sequencer. -i think you'll find the people here are passionate about their fairlights in a way that distinguishes them and also speaks volumes about the object of their affection. good luck. : Bill
