| Farilight CMI IIx serial numbers.... | Peter Wielk | 2004-05-20 11:13:48 |
| Hi there, The serial number you quote is totally nonsense. The actual numbers were numerical, although with a CMI prefix, and described the date the system was made (the numbers were jumbled up a bit - I can't remember exactly how). I'll repost a message when I'm more awake/sober.... And by the way (never start a sentence with "and"), I worked at the Fairlight factory (and even organised the IIX sound library) in the heady days of the 80's... Hope this is helpful, Regards, Peter Wielk

| Hi, It would be good to have some further clarification from Peter on this. From what I can see all CMI 11X monitors, music keyboards, computer keyboard and mainframes begin with the SN designation. For instance my 11X music keyboard has the following number :SNC1183227 . Now I presume this means SN= serial number C = ?? now the rest may mean 11th month 1983 no 227 I would be interested to hear from other 11X users about this. Thanks, James Thomson |
